NXTHVN’s on campus housing is largely 2-3 bedroom apartments. Each fellow has their own bedroom with access to shared bathroom, kitchen, and living space. Our Studio Fellows will each receive a $20,000 stipend for the fellowship year. Our Curatorial Fellows will each receive a $30,000 stipend for the fellowship year. Yes, all selected Fellows will be awarded a stipend which will be disbursed in increments throughout the year. DOES NXTHVN PROVIDE STIPENDS FOR ITS CURATORIAL AND STUDIO FELLOWSHIPS? NXTHVN does not charge an application fee. Does the Fellowship program have an application fee? Please ensure the email address provided on the application form is active. Applicants will be notified of the results via email. Once you have completed and submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email. Will I receive confirmation that my application has been received? However, NXTHVN will help cover visa fees only, but not travel expenses. International artists are welcome to apply for the NXTHVN Fellowship. Applicants must submit their application through Submittable, our online application form. NXTHVN Fellows must reside in or relocate to New Haven for the duration of the fellowship. Will I need to find accommodations if I am relocating to New Haven? In addition, Curatorial Fellows produce an exhibition in the NXTHVN gallery, Studio Fellows participate in a group exhibition at commercial gallery selected by NXTHVN staff, and an Open Studio event takes place in the spring of each year. NXTHVN founders and staff assist in scheduling regular studio visits with major arts institutions, curators, collectors, gallerists and arts and culture organizations. What opportunities will I have to showcase my work during the Fellowship year? Studios will be assigned by NXTHVN.Ĭuratorial Fellows will be provided with a dedicated office and resource library for the duration of the fellowship year. What is the size of the studio space?Įach Studio Fellow will be provided with 24-hr access to a private studio space, between 500 – 820 sq ft, in the NXTHVN building. Interviews typically take place in the spring, and the final cohort is announced shortly thereafter. Selection ProcedureĪ panel of NXTHVN staff and alumni will make admissions selections based primarily on the quality of the image and writing samples – as well as the applicant’s ability to clearly express their desire to join our program at this point in their career (statement/video of intent).
